Henry Cavill could replace Tom Cruise in ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’

Henry Cavill looks to be reaping the rewards from Man of Steel before it even hits theaters this June. According  to The Hollywood Reporter the actor is in talks to replace Tom Cruise in  The Man from U.N.C.L.E. along with Armie Hammer (The Social Network).  The film is based on a Spy television series from the 1960’s that IMDB says is about  The two top agents of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement fight the enemies of peace, particularly the forces of THRUSH. Cruise had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with Mission Impossible 5 which he just signed on for. The film will be helmed by acclaimed Director Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes)

Cavill’s career seems to be taking off even further after being chosen to play Superman in Man of Steel as one can only imagine if  he’s replacing the great Tom Cruise it must be a pretty big role. The actors credits before Man of Steel included what were in my opinion lackluster performances in both Immortals and The Cold Light of Day. Still yet, you have to believe Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder know what they are doing by casting him in what is sure to be the biggest film of the summer. Then again we all remember Brandon Routh don’t we?

Never the less the trailers for Man of Steel look amazing and Warner Bros. is apparently ecstatic with the film and they after all are the ones hiring him for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. so they know more so than anyone what they are getting.  Here’s hoping Cavill shows us something he hasn’t yet in Man of Steel. I may not be impressed with him thus far into his career but I am rooting for the actor to restore my faith by delivering a killer performance as Superman. Then I’ll be excited for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. as well.
